Powerboat level1 - Introduction to powerboating

- The start time is 09:30 with an anticipated finish at around 17:00
Course Information
Level 1 is a practical course with a small amount of classroom work.
At the end of the course you may wish to purchase either The RYA Powerboat logbook, or the Powerboat Practical Course Notes. Both will be available from your instructor.
The course will be conducted in our 7.5m Cobra RIB with a Mercury 150hp Optimax.
What to bring with you on the course
Lifejackets and waterproofs are provided.
- Warm clothing.
- Suitable footwear for being on board a high speed craft such as deck shoes, sailing boots (not gardening wellies please) or old trainers.
- If you wish to use your own foul weather gear, please bring it. You may also bring your own lifejacket but it must conform to EN 396, be in good condition and have a minimum buoyancy of 150 newtons.
- A change of clothing. In case of emergency.
Lunch Arrangements
Lunch arrangements are usually made on the morning of the course as a group decision.
The options are:
- In our canteen (Mon to Fri).
- In the clubhouse at the marina.
- In the Ship & Trades pub next to the marina.
- On board the boat (sandwiches and snacks obtainable from the Co-op at the marina).
- Bring your own packed lunch.

Due to our tailor made service we do not publish a program.
